ESG certification

Certifying sustainability

Getting your sustainability trajectory certified isn't just a marketing tool, but evidence of your commitment to creating lasting impact in your operations. ESG certifications like B Corp, Ecovadis, ISCC, or ISO, are binding commitments your business makes in driving real, tangible impact for people and planet.
Certification is also an important part of your long-term growth strategy. Being certified under one or more of these seals can boost your company's long-term profitability and protect you against different categories of business risks.

  • B Corp certification

The B Corp standards are born from a movement committed to bringing about change in the sustainability sphere. B Lab started as a movement demanding change towards a more just, inclusive, and green economy. It certifies B Corporations to show who are the frontrunners meeting the highest standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. We guide you through the B Impact Assessment

  • Ecovadis certification

Ecovadis is one of the chief sustainability rating platforms in the world. Since 2007 Ecovadis has been rating companies based on their sustainability performance reaching a global network of +150.000 companies rated. The rating process considers a range of sustainability issues that are grouped into four themes: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Based on this your company can be awarded a platinum, gold, silver, or bronze medal, these are proof of your commitment to sustainability in your operations.

  • International Organization for Standardization

The ISO Standards are among the most well known certification schemes in the world. These standards cover numerous topics from material qualities, to issues directly related to sustainability. ISO standards under  ISO 14000 cover topics regarding environmental management, on the other hand standards under ISO 20400 cover sustainable procurement practices. Unsure which ISOs are most relevant for you? Contact our experts and we can find it out together!

  • The world of certification

There is a whole world of certification schemes for sustainability-related questions. The ISCC, CO2 Prestatieladder, BREEAM, and Cradle to Cradle Certified are all schemes that ensure your operations, or parts thereof remain sustainable and, in many cases,  compliant with relevant regulations. Is your company interested in pursuing a specific scheme that isn't listed here? Give us a call and we can discuss how Good Growth Collective can help.

The benefits of getting certified

Continuous improvement

Different standards ensure that you continually improve on your sustainability performance. This is positively associated with long-term, and short-term turnover growth.

Stakeholder engagement

Certified companies enjoy more effective stakeholder engagement models. By focusing less on conflict prevention and more on effective stakeholder management, B corps are better prepared to deal with a wider net of stakeholders in a friendly and cooperative manner.

Increased transparency

Due to certification, firms enjoy increased transparency on their sustainability-related activities. This offers investors and consumers alike an opportunity for investment, and increases trust in your company's brand!

We’re unsure whether B Corp is worth the effort for our business, can you assess that with us?

Definitely. We offer a B Corp quick scan to help you decide if it’s the right fit. We assess your current alignment, weigh benefits vs. costs, and flag key challenges based on your size, sector, or structure. Based on this, we recommend either a clear action plan toward certification or an alternative path like ESG improvements or sustainability reporting if B Corp isn’t the best fit right now.

What are the main differences between the old and new B Corp standards?

The four key differences between the old and new B Corp standards are: First, the shift from points to mandatory requirements: instead of scoring 80 points, companies must now meet minimum standards across all 10 topics. Second, topic-specific minimums replace flexibility, meaning each area (like climate, equity, governance) has non-negotiable thresholds. Third, there’s a stronger emphasis on accountability, requiring companies to legally commit to stakeholder governance and risk management. Finally, the process moves from scored assessments to yes/no compliance, focusing on policy adoption and practices rather than point accumulation.

What are the steps of B Corp certification under the new standard, and what is the average time investment per step?

Under the new B Corp standards, companies must meet mandatory requirements across 10 impact areas. The full process takes 6–12 months, depending on company size and complexity. It begins with onboarding and risk disclosure (5–20 hrs), followed by a self-assessment (15–40 hrs). Next is a gap analysis and action plan to meet minimum standards (40–100+ hrs), and completing the legal requirement for stakeholder governance (15–40 hrs). Companies then submit evidence (5–15 hrs), go through review and verification with B Lab (10–25 hrs), and, once approved, sign the agreement and pay the fee (1 hr).
