EUDR: Who is under scope?

With its first deadline fast approaching, many companies which need to comply with the EU's Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) are still scrambling to do so. In great part this can come from a general lack of knowledge. Understanding who is under scope can be one of the first big challenges of EUDR compliance.

To determine whether or not you fall under scope there are three main criteria which need to be assessed:

1 - Whether you are a Trader or an Operator.

2 - Whether your product's Harmonized System (HS) Codes are under scope of the EUDR's Annex I.

3 - Your product's country-of-origin.
